£9105 distributed to Lyme Regis Bingo Association member organisations

News 6th February 2022

Lyme Regis Community Bingo Association held its AGM last Thursday, distributing funds totalling £9105 to the 6 local organisations which comprise the Association. Over 70s Christmas Lunch, Lyme Regis Christmas Lights, Lyme Regis Football Club, St Michael's Primary School PFA and Lyme Regis Pantomime Society received £1695 respectively while Lyme Regis Majorettes, who withdrew from the Association in 2021, received £630.

The Bingo Association funds were swelled by a generous donation of £1810 from Neville and Sarah Causley and family following their Charity Sleigh during Christmas 2020.

Michaela Ellis, Bingo Association Chairman commented “Despite the challenging past couple of years, it’s so wonderful to distribute such significant amounts, providing much welcome financial support to the member organisations.

“Bingo remains a popular pastime and it’s encouraging to see some new faces as well as our valued regulars at the Woodmead on Thursday evenings. We are grateful to all those who come along for a fun night out as each time they play they are helping raise vital funds for groups within our community.”

During the AGM an application from Lyme Regis Foodbank to become a member organisation was approved. They will take their turn to host and be one of the beneficiaries going forward.

Cash bingo is held every Thursday evening at the Woodmead Halls. Doors open 7.30pm with eyes down at 8pm.
